Introduction to the course.

Currently, most law firms use some version of Microsoft Word in order to create legal documents for their clients. While most lawyers have a basic working knowledge of Word, some lawyers have gaps in their knowledge, especially when trying to use a particular function in Word that they do not normally use.

This course has been specifically designed with legal professionals in mind and will provide useful advice on how to use basic functions in Word such as creating hyperlinks and templates to utilising to more complex functions such as marking citations to automatically creating a table of authorities.

Included in this course is a template of a Memorandum of Understanding and a Non Disclosure Agreement that you can download and practice the Try it! exercises on in the different modules.

Moreover, in order to contextualise the information being learned, participants will be asked to create commonly used legal documents from scratch or work on pre-existing legal templates.

While there are many different versions being used by legal professionals, this course will be based on the 2013 and 2016 version of Microsoft Word. As such, some of the visuals and videos may slightly differ from your current version, but they should be similar enough that you can follow along.

We hope that you learned something new about Word and that you can use your knowledge to continue to create professional legal documents.
