Try it! Insert a table.


  1. Go to the Insert tab and click on Table. Move the cursor over the squares to draw your own table, which will automatically appear on your Word document.

  2. Or, go to the Insert tab, click on Insert Table.


  3. Set the number of columns and rows.
  4. In the AutoFit behavior section, you have three options for setting how wide your columns are:
    1. Fixed column width: Let Word automatically set the column width with Auto, or you can set a specific width for all of your columns.
    2. AutoFit to contents: Create very narrow columns that expand as you add content.
    3. AutoFit to window: Automatically change the width of the entire table to fit the size of your document.
  5. Click on OK.
